Julie Gutierrez, Santa Clara Pueblo, is the granddaughter of Rosita Velarde; daughter of Victoria Gutierrez, sister of Eugene Gutierrez, Effie Gutierrez, Sally Tafoya, Gail Tapia and Etherl Yazza. Julie Gutierrez has been actively making sgraffito and carved redware and blackware pottery, figures of animals and mushrooms since 1977. Julie sometimes collaborates with her husband Johnny Gutierrez.
