Inspired by Josef Albers’ series of Homage to the Square works the face of this watch interprets the works with laser-cut stacked layers of color, adding dimension to this iconic color study.
A director of the Bauhaus from 1926 to 1927, Albers was the first living artist to be given a show at MoMA: The Graphic Construction of Josef Albers (1969–1970). He is perhaps best known for the Homage to the Square paintings and prints, which Albers started in 1950 when he was 62 years old.
This is one of our first releases with The Albers Foundation, who carry on the legacy and ideas of Josef and Anni.
